President Biden Won’t Be Monitoring Trump’s Third Arrest ‍and Arraignment

President Joe Biden made it clear that he will not be closely following former President Donald Trump’s court appearance related to special counsel Jack Smith’s ‍investigation into Trump’s ⁢alleged attempts to undermine the 2020 election. When⁣ asked about it during his August⁤ recess beach holiday ⁣in Rehoboth,‌ Delaware, Biden ⁤simply replied, “No.”

Biden’s⁣ Focus on Protecting Democracy

While ⁢Biden is distancing himself from Trump’s‍ legal troubles, the idea of⁤ protecting democracy has been a central theme ⁤of‌ his presidency. During his keynote ⁤address⁢ last year, Biden emphasized his commitment to defending democracy and preventing the theft of elections. He urged every American to join him in‌ this mission.

“Democracy is at stake,” Biden ⁢reiterated during a recent fundraiser in⁢ Freeport, Maine. He expressed concern over‍ Trump’s statements and actions, describing them as potentially seditious and not reflective of who we are as a nation.

Democratic ⁤Response to Trump’s Indictment

Following ⁤the news of Trump’s ‍indictment, American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic research and rapid response organization, offered a response. Monica Venzke, a spokesperson for the organization, stated, “Well,​ we certainly didn’t plan on having three Trump indictments on our 2023 bingo ⁣card. It’s a ‍good⁣ reminder ‌that trying to overturn our democracy⁣ and illegally install yourself as president has consequences.”

White House’s Stance on Trump’s Legal Issues

The White House, along with ⁤the Democratic National Committee⁢ and Biden’s campaign, has made it ⁢clear that they are not involved in Trump’s legal matters. The ⁣Justice⁣ Department conducts its criminal investigations independently, according to White House‌ Counsel’s ⁤Office spokesman​ Ian Sams.
