McCarthy slams Hunter Biden’s ‘pay-to-play’ foreign business deal when questioned about Trump indictment.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy Ridicules President Biden’s Family
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) took aim at President Joe Biden’s family in response to testimony from Hunter Biden’s former business partner. McCarthy expressed his frustration with what he perceives as a two-tiered justice system during a press conference in Clovis, California.
Hunter Biden’s Ex-Business Partner Testifies
Devon Archer, who served on the board of Ukrainian oil company Burisma alongside Hunter Biden, provided testimony to Congress earlier this week. House Republicans released the complete transcript of his testimony on Thursday.
“We’ve now found that they created 20 shell companies when he was vice president,” McCarthy revealed. “We’ve now found that the business partner says the vice president called in 20 times. We now found that the vice president went to dinner — a little pay to play.”
According to Archer’s testimony, then-Vice President Joe Biden had around 20 phone conversations with Burisma executives. However, Archer stated that no substantial discussions took place regarding business matters.
“Hunter Biden got a brand new Porsche, a $142,000 car,” McCarthy continued. “Hunter Biden got millions of dollars after the one dinner with the oligarch from Moscow.”
Archer confirmed that Hunter Biden received $142,300 in 2014, which he used to purchase a sports car. When asked about the specific car, Archer mentioned that it was initially a Fisker and later a Porsche.
Trump’s Indictment and McCarthy’s Response
On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump was indicted for the third time on conspiracy charges related to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election. When questioned about Trump’s denial of the election results, McCarthy pointed out various incidents within the Democratic Party, including Hillary Clinton’s claim that the 2016 election was not conducted legitimately and the Democratic National Committee’s lawsuit alleging Russian collusion in the same election. McCarthy also referenced the narrative that Al Gore defeated George Bush in the 2000 election.
“But were any of them prosecuted? Were any of them put in jail? Were any of them held without response to be able to get out? The answer is no,” McCarthy emphasized.
McCarthy passionately called for an end to the use of government power to target political opponents, asserting that it is unjust and should cease immediately.

“So stop using government to go after people who politically disagree with you. That is wrong, and that should stop now,” McCarthy declared, raising his voice as he continued to denounce what he perceives as a two-tiered justice system.
