China and Russia’s united warship fleet rapidly approaching Alaska signifies the dawn of a new era.
Russia and China Conduct Largest Joint Naval Exercise Near Alaska
Last week, Russia and China joined forces for a major military exercise off the coast of Alaska, marking the largest flotilla to approach American shores, according to experts cited by the Wall Street Journal.
Amidst the ongoing war in Ukraine and tensions surrounding Taiwan, this move is seen as highly provocative and unprecedented. The 11-ship force remained in international waters and was not considered a direct threat, as stated by U.S. Northern Command.
Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan of Alaska expressed his concern and anger at the joint exercise, emphasizing the need for a strong response to authoritarian aggression. He noted that this recent response was an improvement compared to a similar incident last year, where the U.S. presence was significantly increased.

Adm. John Aquilino, head of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, expressed concern about the increasing collaboration between Russia and China. He warned that their exercises and operations are growing stronger, creating a dangerous world. Aquilino highlighted the ongoing joint patrol and speculated on its potential destinations.
The joint military exercise near Alaska serves as a stark reminder of the evolving dynamics in international relations and the need for continued vigilance.
