Op-Ed: Securing Election Integrity: A Must for 2024.
We’re in a War for Election Integrity: The Critical Battlefield for 2024
During the Trump administration, it became clear that we were engaged in a war with China. This war wasn’t fought with guns, but it had real consequences in the economic and information spaces, both at home and abroad. Surprisingly, most Americans were unaware of this war.
Now, a book called “The Citizen’s Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare” is shedding light on the broader conflict we face with Marxism and globalism. This conflict has sparked a civil war within our own borders. Just like the war with China, the civil war has two defining characteristics: one side has a long-term strategy and uses unconventional tactics, while the other side remains oblivious to the war.
Fortunately, Michael Flynn and Boone Cutler’s book is waking people up. It’s helping them understand the situation and inspiring them to fight back. Flynn and Cutler identify six critical battlefields in this civil war: election integrity, border security, parental rights, medical freedom, the Bill of Rights, and identifying and removing fifth-column members of the uni-party. However, election integrity is listed first for a reason.
Free and fair elections are essential for resolving political conflicts nonviolently and protecting our democratic rights and freedoms. Without them, none of our other objectives can be achieved. As history has shown, the only alternative to free and fair elections is violent conventional war.
What Defines a Free and Fair Election?
In the realm of democracy, free and fair elections are characterized by candidates campaigning without interference, voters having access to uncensored information, and election outcomes reflecting the will of the people. Unfortunately, recent U.S. elections in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022 did not meet these criteria.
A majority of American voters now doubt the integrity of our election processes. However, a democracy cannot function without public confidence in the legitimacy of elected representatives. To avoid a bloody civil war or life under a one-party tyranny, it is crucial to restore confidence in elections by holding transparent and verifiable elections in 2024.
Restoring Confidence in Elections: What Can We Do?
If reforms had been implemented earlier, small adjustments might have sufficed. However, we are now past that stage. Statements from politicians will not reassure those who doubt the process. The only way to restore confidence is to conduct elections that are completely transparent and verifiable by ordinary voters.
But it’s not as simple as it sounds. An entire infrastructure has been working to decrease the transparency and security of our elections. This includes politicians, secretaries of state, and government officials at all levels, along with their allies in academia, NGOs, the media, Big Tech, and global corporations.
With all these institutions working against us, the power to turn the tide lies with the people themselves. However, there is a lack of coordination among those concerned about election integrity. We need tailored reform programs in each state to address the specific deficiencies and dysfunctions of their election processes.
Time is also a complicating factor. While our opponents have been building their insurgency for decades, the pro-democracy and pro-election integrity movement is relatively new. We must come together, organize, identify necessary reforms, and mount a campaign to enact those reforms before the 2024 elections.
It’s a challenging task, but not impossible. Marxism may be ancient and morally bankrupt, but we have the power of youth and truth on our side. With our liberty, lives, and sacred honor at stake, we have no choice but to fight. Let’s make election integrity our most critical battlefield and plan for a better future in 2024.
