Border Agents Seize $3.8 Million Worth of Cocaine in Daring Operation
In a thrilling operation, border agents intercepted a group of daring smugglers attempting to cross the Texas border, resulting in the seizure of over $3.8 million worth of cocaine. The incident took place in the Rio Grande City area on Monday evening, showcasing the relentless efforts of Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
“As the vehicle traveled away from the river, agents responded to the area, and the suspect driver turned south stopping near the riverbank,” the release read.
“The driver exited the vehicle and was observed swimming into Mexico. In the abandoned truck, agents discovered two nylon sacks containing 50 bricks of suspected narcotics.”
The seized drugs weighed a staggering 121 pounds, with an estimated street value exceeding $3.8 million. This remarkable haul was promptly handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, ensuring that these dangerous substances would not reach our communities.
