A Colombian Drug Lord Sentenced to 45 Years in Prison
A notorious Colombian drug lord, who has been compared to the infamous Pablo Escobar, has been handed a 45-year prison sentence. The sentence was announced by prosecutors on August 8th and includes charges of “engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise as a leader of the multibillion-dollar paramilitary and drug trafficking organization.”
The drug lord in question is Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, also known as “Otoniel.” At the age of 51, Otoniel has gained a reputation as one of the most prolific and dangerous figures in the Colombian drug trade.
