FBI kills Utah man for online threats against Joe Biden, Alvin Bragg.
The FBI Shoots and Kills Utah Man Accused of Threatening President Biden
In a shocking turn of events, the FBI has shot and killed a man in his 70s from Utah who was accused of making threatening remarks online about President Joe Biden and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
The man, Craig Deleeuw Robertson of Provo, Utah, was the target of an early morning FBI raid on his home. The raid took place at approximately 6:15 a.m., resulting in Robertson’s death.
“The incident began when special agents attempted to serve arrest and search warrants at a residence,” a statement from the FBI said. “The subject is deceased.”
Robertson was facing three felony counts, including interstate threats, threats against the president, and influencing, impeding, and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat.
According to the FBI, they observed Robertson wearing a dark suit with an AR-15 style rifle lapel pin, a white shirt, a red tie, and a multi-colored (possibly camouflage) hat with the word ‘TRUMP’ on the front.
On social media, Robertson allegedly wrote, “I hear Biden is coming to Utah,” along with a statement about cleaning the dust off his M24 sniper. He also made other threatening posts, including one suggesting a presidential assassination.

Neighbors described Robertson as overweight and walking with a cane. Some believe that his online threats were merely attention-seeking behavior.
“I don’t really care who’s president, I don’t think it’s cool to make threats like that, whether they’re legitimate threats or not. Again, Craig, I would say, is a big story teller and likes the attention of big stories,” neighbor Cooper Robinson told Deseret. “So a man that sits at home all day, doesn’t have much to do, if he’s on his phone and is involved in politics and has strong political opinions, I’m not surprised that he would make posts like that to try to receive attention. I’m just hoping that the FBI has some more evidence besides Facebook posts to want to raid his house like they did.”
The Secret Service has acknowledged the incident but deferred any questions to the FBI.
“The Secret Service is aware of the FBI investigation involving an individual in Utah who has exhibited threats towards a protectee,” a statement said. “While we always remain in close coordination with our law enforcement partners, this is an FBI-led effort and we would refer any related questions to the FBI.”
The FBI’s Inspection Division is now investigating the shooting. President Biden is scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City later today.
