Democrats are the party of entitled kids.
Meet the Filthy Rich Heirs and Heiresses Who Call the Shots in Democratic Politics
What’s the deal: Democrats make a big show about antagonizing rich people, especially those who inherited their wealth. Nevertheless, the Democratic Party is overrun with the spoiled heirs and heiresses to some of America’s biggest fortunes.
Politicians: These Democrats have never had to do an honest day’s work in their lives thanks to their inherited affluence.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D., Ill.) — This morbidly obese billionaire belongs to one of the wealthiest families in America. The Pritzkers own the Hyatt hotel chain and are worth an estimated $33 billion.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D., Calif.) — Technically not a blue-blooded heir, but he might as well be. His father was a close family friend and employee of billionaire Gordon Getty, heir to the Getty Oil fortune, who eventually became Gavin’s business partner and political patron. The Getty and Pritzker families are “among Newsom’s most loyal and long-term contributors.”
Rep. Daniel Goldman (D., N.Y.) — This obnoxious Hunter Biden apologist is worth hundreds of millions of dollars as an heir to the Levi Strauss denim fortune. He has only gotten richer since becoming a member of Congress and making a number of perfectly timed stock trades.
Rep. Sara Jacobs (D., Calif.) — A 34-year-old corporate heiress whose granddaddy founded the technology giant Qualcomm. She has a net worth of up to $65 million.
Sen. John Fetterman (D., Pa.) — Despite play-acting as a working-class laborer, he’s just another spoiled adult child whose entire life was subsidized by his wealthy father, a successful insurance magnate.
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.) — This multimillionaire white supremacist has repeatedly defended his membership in a notoriously racist beach club. He is the great-great-grandson of Charles Crocker, the 19th-century railroad and banking tycoon.
John Kerry — The failed presidential candidate and obnoxious climate freak is a member of the Forbes family, a wealthy Boston clan who made a fortune trading opium in the 19th century. He married Teresa Heinz in 1995, four years after her previous husband, U.S. senator and Big Ketchup heir John Heinz, died in a plane crash.
Alex Lasry — The 36-year-old son of Marc Lasry, the billionaire investor and Democratic megadonor who until recently co-owned the Milwaukee Bucks NBA franchise. He ran a failed campaign for U.S. Senate in 2022.
Trudy Busch Valentine — This heir to the (large but rapidly diminishing) Anheuser-Busch beer fortune was the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in 2022. She lost to the Republican nominee, Eric Schmitt, by a margin of 13.2 percentage points.
Daniel Lurie — Another heir to the Levi Strauss denim fortune since his mom got remarried to Goldman’s great-uncle. Lurie, who describes himself as “passionate about fighting poverty,” is running for mayor of San Francisco in 2024.
Donors: Here are a just a few of the filthy rich heirs and heiresses who fund the Democratic Party.
Gordon Getty — The 89-year-old Big Oil scion and Gavin Newsom ally donated $1 million to the Lincoln Project, the liberal super PAC best known for enabling a sexual predator.
Alex Soros — The 37-year-old scion is taking over his father George Soros’s multibillion-dollar political empire, which funds far-left candidates across the country.
Laurene Powell Jobs — The widow of Apple nerd Steve Jobs has used her late husband’s fortune to buy the Atlantic, donate to Democratic campaigns, and finance an array of left-wing activist groups.
Lukas Walton — The 36-year-old Walmart heir donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to President Joe Biden’s campaign in 2020. In 2021, the Biden administration gave Walton’s green energy company, First Solar, a $500 million loan to build a manufacturing plant in India.
Leah Hunt-Hendrix — The 38-year-old granddaughter of billionaire oil tycoon H.L. Hunt has a Maltipoo named after Malcolm X. She is a professional activist and fundraiser who funnels money to far-left candidates and causes.
Pierce Delahunt — This 30-something heir to an outlet mall fortune told the New York Times that he gives away his family money to “anticapitalist” organizations to combat “intersectional oppression.”
Amy Goldman Fowler — The billionaire daughter of New York City real-estate tycoon Sol Goldman has donated millions of dollars to Democratic candidates and causes.
Dagmar Dolby — The widow of billionaire audio tycoon Ray Dolby, founder of Dolby Laboratories, has funneled millions of her late husband’s fortune to the Democratic Party.
Hunter Biden — The only living son of Joe Biden, president of the United States and leader of the Biden crime family. Used his ill-gotten fortune to enrich drug dealers and cartels, known to be enthusiastic supporters of Democratic policies.
