Trump criticizes GOP Iowa Gov. Reynolds after attending annual fair.
Former President Donald Trump Takes Aim at Gov. Kim Reynolds
As he bid farewell to the Hawkeye state following his appearance at the Iowa State Fair, former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in expressing his thoughts about Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA). Trump’s comments were prompted by Reynolds’ decision not to endorse any specific candidate in the race for the Republican National Convention’s 2024 presidential nomination.
Reynolds Makes Waves at Iowa State Fair
Amidst interviews and a notable silence on endorsements, Kim Reynolds made her presence felt at the Iowa State Fair. Trump took the opportunity to address the situation, stating, “I got her elected. I endorsed her, I came and did a rally when she was very far behind.”
He continued, “I like her very much, and I was very happy to do a rally. We did the rally, and she ended up going up. I actually did a couple of rallies for her, and she ended up winning the election instead of losing. I like her very much, that’s why I came to do rallies for her.”
Trump also took pride in his administration’s accomplishments, emphasizing, “the fact is we had a great four years. What we did in four years was build the greatest economy in the world… [inaudible] actually twice, because it was interrupted, unfortunately, by a gift from China, COVID, and it should’ve never happened.”
When it came to his handling of the military, the former president highlighted his achievements, stating, “we rebuilt our military… we got out of all the wars, we beat ISIS, we defeated ISIS, we took out the worst terrorists in the world. We did more than just about any president has done.”
