Texas police apprehend MS-13 member involved in sexual offenses.

Texas Law Enforcement Arrests MS-13 Gang Member ⁤with History of Sexual Violence

Texas law enforcement has made ‌a significant arrest⁢ in their ‌ongoing efforts to combat crime. A member of the notorious MS-13 gang, ‌Emerson Lopez Fugon,‌ was apprehended by the DPS Texas Rangers Special Operations Group. This dangerous individual, originally from Honduras, was found hiding⁣ on a train ⁣in Maverick County near Eagle Pass.

What makes this‌ arrest even more alarming is that ⁣Lopez ‍Fugon ⁤is not only a ‍member of the violent MS-13 gang but⁣ also a registered sex offender with a history of kidnapping, abduction, and ⁤sexual ⁤violence. His capture is⁤ a testament to the effectiveness of Operation Lone Star, a program launched by Governor Greg Abbott to address the rise ⁣in illegal immigration.

MS-13, also known as Mara Salvatrucha, is a gang that‌ originates from the violent Northern Triangle region of Central America, primarily El Salvador.

Recent Arrests‍ Highlight the‌ Dangers

This arrest is just one of several recent successes ‍for Texas law enforcement. In addition to capturing Lopez Fugon, the DPS has also apprehended a‍ Honduran national involved in human smuggling and child ⁣pornography. Furthermore, they disrupted a human smuggling attempt and arrested a sex offender from Houston.

These ‌arrests demonstrate the⁤ commitment of Texas to protect its citizens and‍ maintain the safety of⁢ the nation. Governor Abbott ⁣emphasized this⁣ in a recent statement, affirming that Texas will continue to hold the line‍ against illegal activity.

Operation Lone ⁤Star: Filling the Gaps

Operation Lone Star has been instrumental in addressing ‌the security challenges posed by the⁣ Biden administration’s⁣ lax border policies. Since its⁤ launch, over 406,500⁣ illegal migrants ‌have been ⁣apprehended, and more ⁣than 32,700 criminal arrests⁤ have been made.

Every ‍arrest and seizure made through Operation Lone Star prevents ⁢dangerous individuals ⁢and illicit substances from infiltrating communities ⁣across Texas and the entire country. It serves as a crucial response to the Biden administration’s failure to secure the border.

Alien Sex Offenders Entering America

Among the ‌individuals arrested ⁣for sexual⁤ offenses, many are repeat offenders who have been deported from the United States in the past. However, they‍ continue to reenter the country illegally and commit further crimes.

For example, a Mexican national convicted ‍of attempted rape in Georgia in 2015 was recently arrested after illegally crossing the border. Similarly, an illegal immigrant apprehended ⁢near⁢ Bisbee, Arizona, was found to have a⁢ prior conviction in Utah for sexually abusing a child.

These individuals now face federal prosecution for‍ illegal re-entry,⁣ which carries a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.

Rising Numbers of Criminal Noncitizens

The number of criminal noncitizens in the United States ‌has been steadily ⁤increasing under the Biden administration. In fiscal year 2021, there were 488 arrests of such individuals charged with sexual offenses, ⁣compared to 137 in fiscal year 2017 under the Trump administration.

These alarming statistics highlight⁤ the urgent need⁢ for stronger border security measures. Law enforcement officials, such as Rep. August Pfluger and Rep. Troy Nehls, have criticized the Biden administration’s response to the border crisis and called for immediate action.

Texas remains committed to protecting its ⁤citizens and ensuring the safety of the nation. Through initiatives like Operation Lone Star, law enforcement agencies are actively ‍working to ‍address the threats posed by criminal organizations and illegal immigration.
