Biden’s Treasury Secretary Confesses to Consuming Magic Mushrooms in China.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s Unforgettable Trip to China
Last month, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen embarked on a journey to China that turned out to be more than just a diplomatic visit. In a recent revelation, the Biden administration official admitted to an extraordinary experience during her time in the country.
The 77-year-old cabinet head confessed to CNN that she consumed hallucinogenic mushrooms while in China, where she engaged in high-level meetings as part of the Biden administration’s efforts to ease tensions.
Yellen explained that she unknowingly ate a dish with hallucinogenic properties during a group dinner and only discovered this fact later on. “So I went with this large group of people and the person who had arranged our dinner did the ordering,” Yellen told CNN. “There was this delicious mushroom dish. I was not aware that these mushrooms had hallucinogenic properties.”
The restaurant she visited, called Yi Zuo Yi Wang or In and Out, is a popular chain in China.
Surprisingly, Yellen claimed to have “enjoyed” the mushrooms and experienced no negative effects. “I read that if the mushrooms are cooked properly, which I’m sure they were at this very good restaurant, that they have no impact,” Yellen said. “But all of us enjoyed the mushrooms, the restaurant, and none of us felt any ill effects from having eaten them.”
Aside from this unforgettable culinary adventure, Yellen also took the opportunity to “preview” the Biden administration’s investment bans to the Chinese communist government. These bans, which were revealed last month and restrict certain U.S. investments in Chinese technologies, were intended to ensure that America’s biggest geopolitical rival was not caught off guard, according to Bloomberg.
The warning came about a month before President Joe Biden signed the executive order implementing the investment bans.
