Biden says farewell to trusted adviser Delery amidst inquiries.

President Biden ⁣Commends Outgoing White House Counsel ‌Stuart Delery

President Joe Biden expressed his admiration for White House counsel Stuart Delery, recognizing ⁣his invaluable contributions in navigating ⁤congressional‌ Republican‌ and ⁣special counsel ‌investigations.‌ Delery, ⁣who initially⁤ served as a member of the transition team,‌ has been ‍a ⁣trusted adviser and a constant source of innovative legal‌ thinking since the beginning of ‍the Biden administration.

“From his tireless efforts in combating the COVID-19⁤ pandemic and ⁤ensuring the swift distribution of life-saving vaccines to the American public, to⁣ his instrumental role in implementing significant legislative achievements like‍ the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction ⁣Act, Stuart has been an integral part of my team,” Biden stated in a heartfelt message. “His absence will be deeply felt throughout the administration, and I extend my sincere gratitude to Stuart and his family⁢ for their dedicated service.”

Delery, who assumed the position of ‌White House counsel following Dana Remus’s departure in June 2022,‌ holds the distinction of being ⁤the first‍ openly ‍gay individual to occupy this role. Although his departure is imminent, the White House has yet to announce his successor.

Leading the Charge

The ⁤White House Counsel’s Office, under⁤ Delery’s guidance, has played a pivotal⁢ role in President Biden’s response to Republican-led investigations ⁢into his family and the ongoing‍ scrutiny by‌ special counsel Robert Hur regarding alleged mishandling of⁣ classified documents. Delery was also at the forefront when the Supreme Court blocked Biden’s attempt to forgive $400 billion in⁢ federal student ⁤loan debt, subsequently ‍prompting the formulation of a more modest plan that ‍is currently‌ facing legal challenges.

Furthermore, Delery played a significant part in shaping Biden’s immigration policies following the repeal of Title ⁤42, a public health authority that‌ facilitated the‌ swift expulsion of immigrants during the ⁣pandemic.

Stuart Delery’s tenure as White House counsel has been marked by unwavering‌ dedication and a commitment to upholding the rule of law. His departure will undoubtedly leave a void, but his contributions will continue to resonate within the administration.
