New York Jets Assistant Coach Tony Oden Injured in Scuffle During Joint Practice
In an unexpected turn of events, New York Jets assistant coach Tony Oden was forced to leave a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday after being injured in a scuffle between the two teams.
The incident, described as a “friendly fire” incident by Jets head coach Robert Saleh, occurred during one of the altercations on the field. Saleh reassured everyone that Oden is awake, doing fine, and in stable condition.
Oden was immediately taken to a hospital for evaluation as a precautionary measure. The severity of his injuries is still unknown.
Eye-Witness Accounts
According to NFL reporter Rich Cimini, Oden collapsed on the sideline and remained down for a few minutes while medical personnel attended to him. Players from both teams took a knee in a show of support.
