New York Jets Assistant Coach Tony Oden ⁤Injured in Scuffle ⁢During Joint ⁤Practice

In ‍an unexpected turn of events, New York Jets assistant ⁢coach Tony Oden ‍was‌ forced to leave a‌ joint practice ‍with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday after being injured in a scuffle between the two teams.

The incident, described as a “friendly fire” incident by Jets head coach Robert Saleh, occurred during one of the altercations on the‍ field. Saleh reassured everyone that Oden is awake, doing fine, and in‍ stable condition.

Oden was immediately taken⁣ to ⁤a hospital for evaluation as‌ a precautionary​ measure. The severity of his injuries is still unknown.

Eye-Witness Accounts

According to NFL reporter Rich‌ Cimini, Oden collapsed on⁤ the ⁤sideline and remained ⁣down for a few minutes while medical personnel attended to⁤ him. Players from both teams took a knee in ⁤a show‌ of ‍support.

Another reporter, Connor⁢ Hughes, described the scene as “scary” and mentioned ‍that ‌Oden was on his knee after the players were separated.

Fortunately, Oden was able to return to ‍practice the following day, although he was ⁤seen wearing an arm sling.

Tony Oden is⁤ a highly respected senior defensive ⁤assistant and cornerbacks coach for the New York Jets. With‌ almost 20 years of coaching ‍experience in the NFL, he ⁢has⁣ been an invaluable asset to the team‌ since joining in 2021.

The Jets and Buccaneers are scheduled to face each other ⁤in a preseason game on Saturday, adding an extra layer of anticipation to their already intense rivalry.
