Nurse tasked with safeguarding infants convicted of 7 baby deaths.
A Shocking Case: Nurse Convicted of Murdering Infants
In a horrifying turn of events, a British nurse has been found guilty of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder six more between 2015 and 2016. This shocking case has made her the United Kingdom’s worst serial killer of babies in recent times.
The 33-year-old nurse, whose name will not be disclosed, faced a total of 22 counts, out of which she was convicted in 14. The trial, which lasted for 10 months at Manchester Crown Court, saw the jury unable to reach verdicts on six additional counts of attempted murder. However, she was acquitted of two counts of attempted murder.
Working in the neonatal ward of the Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester, England, the nurse carried out heinous acts against innocent babies. She injected air into their blood and stomachs, overfed them with milk, physically assaulted them, and even poisoned them with insulin.
Tragically, seven babies lost their lives due to her actions, resulting in seven murder convictions. Additionally, she was found guilty on seven counts of attempted murder relating to six other babies. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of Britain confirmed these convictions in a press release.
During the police investigation, authorities discovered handwritten notes in the nurse’s home, including one chilling message that read, ”I am evil I did this.”
Doctors at the hospital where the nurse worked began to notice an alarming number of infant deaths and unexpected collapses. When no medical explanation could be found, the hospital alerted the police, leading to the uncovering of this horrifying crime.

“[The nurse] sought to deceive her colleagues and pass off the harm she caused as nothing more than a worsening of each baby’s existing vulnerability,” stated Pascale Jones, the senior crown prosecutor. “In her hands, innocuous substances like air, milk, fluids – or medication like insulin – would become lethal. She perverted her learning and weaponized her craft to inflict harm, grief, and death.”
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence showing that the babies were perfectly healthy before the nurse attacked them. Furthermore, those who survived her attempts to kill them experienced a remarkably rapid recovery, indicating that the harm inflicted was not natural. Investigators also uncovered falsified medical documents, including manipulated change time reports, in an attempt by the nurse to conceal her involvement in the deaths.
Disturbingly, text messages and social media activity coincided with the attacks, with some appearing to live blog the events. The CPS revealed that this activity demonstrated the nurse’s “intrusive curiosity about the parents of babies she had harmed.”
“To the families of the victims – I hope your unimaginable suffering is eased in some way by the verdicts. Our thoughts remain with you,” expressed Chief Crown Prosecutor Jonathan Storer. “Our prosecution team and police investigators have my respect and gratitude. These convictions could not have happened without their dedication to securing justice.”
