Amid the‍ crisis, Democrats have started pointing fingers at each other. Governor Hochul⁣ has criticized Mayor Adams for alleged inaction on the part of the city government. Hochul’s lawyers have accused the city of failing to accept ⁣the state’s offers for help⁢ and failing to coordinate with surrounding ‍communities to provide housing, resulting in a severe shortage of housing for illegal‍ immigrants.
