The 2024 Republican Presidential Primary Field Gears Up for First Debate
The anticipation is building as the bulk of the 2024 Republican presidential primary field prepares to square off in the first debate of the election cycle. This highly-anticipated event is set to take place on Wednesday. However, one person who won’t be tuning in is President Joe Biden.
Biden is currently enjoying a vacation in the beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Although he is taking some time off, the president’s commitment to his duties remains evident. On Monday, he will be traveling to Hawaii to assess the response to the devastating wildfires that have occurred there.

During Biden’s flight from Nevada to Hawaii, White House principal deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton faced numerous questions about the president’s vacation schedule. Despite the criticism, Dalton emphasized that Biden has been actively engaged in addressing the various challenges the nation is facing.
“I can’t shed any light on how he’s spending some valuable quality family time out here, but certainly he’s been engaged on a daily basis and confronting some of these extreme events we’re seeing,” Dalton stated when asked about Biden’s activities in Nevada.
When questioned about whether Biden plans to watch the debate on Wednesday night, Dalton responded, “I don’t know. I sure hope not. For his sake, but I don’t know.”
