Hunter Biden’s lawyers urge DOJ to charge IRS whistleblowers – Report
Hunter Biden’s Attorneys Push DOJ to Prosecute IRS Whistleblowers
In a recent development, attorneys representing Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, are reportedly urging the Justice Department to prosecute two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers. These whistleblowers had testified before Congress last month, providing crucial information about Hunter Biden’s alleged tax evasion.
The House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer and his fellow Republicans, is currently investigating Hunter Biden’s overseas business deals and any potential involvement of Joe Biden during his tenure as vice president. The committee’s staff has uncovered bank records revealing over $20 million in foreign payments made to Biden family members and their associates.
During the course of the committee’s investigation, two IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, came forward to testify about the Justice Department’s alleged suppression of efforts to bring tax evasion charges against Hunter Biden. Shapley, who supervises Ziegler, stated that Hunter Biden had evaded paying $1.2 million in taxes in 2017 and 2018, and should face federal charges.
Ziegler, a 13-year veteran of the IRS and the lead case agent in the federal investigation into Hunter Biden, revealed that he was prevented from pursuing leads that could potentially implicate President Biden.
According to The New York Times, the testimony of these IRS whistleblowers compelled the Justice Department to file two misdemeanor tax charges and a firearm possession charge against Hunter Biden. However, the plea deal fell apart in court when the judge questioned its details.
Hunter Biden’s attorneys have now turned the tables, arguing that the IRS whistleblowers violated the law by disclosing details of the investigation to Congress. They are calling for the prosecution of these whistleblowers instead of their client.
Former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy criticized this stance, sarcastically suggesting that the agents who investigated the Biden family’s alleged influence-peddling business should be prosecuted, rather than Hunter Biden himself.
No, don’t investigate the Biden family influence-peddling business and don’t prosecute Hunter. Prosecute the agents who investigated the Biden Family influence-peddling business – or tried to – and exposed Biden DOJ’s collusion with Biden Family lawyers! https://t.co/La3JxEggrk

McCarthy further highlighted the reluctance of Justice Department prosecutors to charge Hunter Biden, despite having evidence of a 10-year gun felony and tax evasion. He suggested that the fear stems from Hunter Biden’s former attorney, Chris Clark, threatening to put President Joe Biden on the stand as a fact witness in the case.
As the case unfolds, it raises questions about the influence and access to power that individuals like Hunter Biden sought and the potential consequences for those who dare to expose it. The investigation continues, and the outcome remains uncertain.
