Trump indicted, mocks Fani Willis over Georgia bond.
Former President Donald Trump Mocks Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis
In a recent post on the social media platform Truth Social, former President Donald Trump took a jab at Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for her insistence on a hefty bond for him. Trump humorously suggested that he might flee to Russia and stay in a luxurious suite with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The failed District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Fani Willis, insisted on a $200,000 Bond from me,” Trump said. “I assume, therefore, that she thought I was a ‘flight’ risk – I’d fly far away, maybe to Russia, Russia, Russia, share a gold domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again. Would I be able to take my very ‘understated’ airplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see. Probably not, I’d be much better off flying commercial – I’m sure nobody would recognize me!”
Trump’s History of Criticizing Prosecutors
This is not the first time Trump has targeted his prosecutors in legal cases. He has previously gone after special counsel Jack Smith, whom he referred to as a “lunatic,” and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Last week, Trump was indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on charges related to alleged election interference during the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
