In ⁣an ⁣email obtained by Deadline, the response manager for the movie studio, Sommer McElroy, ‌announced the new policy in an internal memo.

“Employees ‌must wear a medical grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 ⁤or N95) when indoors except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively eating, actively drinking at⁤ their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a⁣ large open workspace,” he wrote,‍ according to Deadline.

Additionally, the mandate will only affect employees who work on⁣ the third and fifth floors of the five story building, according⁤ to the email.

The new procedures will now require‍ employees to participate in daily self-screenings. They will ⁤also be asked to stay at home if they have symptoms of the ‌virus or if they have ⁢traveled internationally in the past 10 days.

Furthermore, ‌the ⁤company is bringing back contact-tracing and⁤ will provide home test kits to employees if⁤ necessary.

The new memo comes after the LA county ended a state of emergency for COVID-19‌ back in March.

Additionally, the department of public health recently reported an increase in COVID-19 cases. However, the department also emphasized that “overall metrics remain at a low level of concern.”

The CDC reported 10,320 hospital ‌admissions for COVID-19 in the ⁣U.S.‌ for the ⁣first week of August, ⁤which is a 14% increase from the week prior.
