Man in Downtown San Diego Killed by Trash Truck
Tragic Accident in Downtown San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif.—A man was tragically run over and killed by a trash truck on Aug. 22 in downtown San Diego, police reported.
The victim, described as being in his 30s, crawled from the west sidewalk of 1000 Sixth Avenue into the roadway at 5:23 a.m. Tuesday, according to Officer Sarah Foster of the San Diego Police Department.
The driver of the private trash truck, a 59-year-old man, was traveling southbound when he struck the victim as he lay in the roadway, Ms. Foster said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. City police traffic units are currently handling the investigation.
