VIDEO: Maui Locals Express Discontent Towards Joe Biden with Gestures and Verbal Outbursts
Maui Residents Express Anger Towards President Joe Biden
Residents of Maui were left furious by President Joe Biden‘s visit to their island on Monday. As the president’s motorcade passed by, locals greeted him with a one-finger salute and caustic chants of “f*** Joe Biden.”
Biden’s visit came nearly two weeks after a devastating wildfire destroyed the historic beach town of Lahaina. The fire, which started amidst strong winds, spread rapidly, leading many residents to seek refuge in the ocean. The death toll currently stands at 115, with approximately 800 people still unaccounted for.
While some Maui residents cheered the president’s motorcade, many others expressed their frustration with obscenities, criticizing his handling of the tragedy. Videos circulating on social media captured moments of residents chanting “f*** Joe Biden” as the president and first lady walked down a street.

During his visit, President Biden attempted to empathize with the islanders by sharing a personal story of his own experience with a house fire. However, his remarks were met with criticism as some accused him of exaggerating the severity of the incident.
Biden tells Maui wildfire victims, “I don’t want to compare difficulties, but…” then tells a made-up story about losing his house to a fire.

Biden assured Maui residents that the federal government would provide assistance for as long as necessary. He pledged to rebuild according to the desires of the people of Maui.
Meanwhile, Hawaiian Electric, the main utility provider for 95% of the state, is facing scrutiny over its priorities leading up to the fire. Lawsuits have been filed, accusing the company of negligence and knowing that its infrastructure posed a fire risk. Hawaiian Electric has committed to conducting its own investigation and cooperating with the Hawaii attorney general’s office.
