Former President Donald Trump’s Interview with Tucker Carlson to be Released Tonight
Former President Donald Trump has confirmed that his highly anticipated interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson will be released tonight, just before the network’s Republican presidential primary debate.
In a social media post on Truth Social, President Trump announced that the pre-recorded interview will be broadcast at 9 p.m.
The GOP primary event, featuring eight of President Trump’s opponents, will be aired by Fox News between 9 and 11 p.m.

“Sparks will fly,” President Trump wrote in his post about the interview, which will reportedly stream on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
President Trump has decided not to participate in the debate, citing his significant lead in national and state-level surveys compared to the other contenders in the primary election.
For several months, the former president has questioned the rationale of subjecting himself to criticism from other candidates when he already enjoys strong support among GOP voters.
On the other hand, President Trump engaged in a discussion with Mr. Carlson, a conservative pundit who was previously removed from Fox News earlier this year.
Although the interview is not being broadcast in real-time, the strategic decision to release it concurrently with the start of the GOP showdown serves as a potential means for President Trump to divert attention away from a crucial juncture where his opponents may gain momentum.
Furthermore, this move can be seen as another example of President Trump’s complex and ever-changing relationship with Fox News, a media network he has had a tumultuous association with in recent years.
Some have speculated that the interview may not attract a significant audience. Attorney and political commentator Bakari Sellers stated during a CNN interview, “Donald Trump’s counter-programming is horrible. I don’t think anybody is going to be watching Tucker Carlson on Twitter or X.”
Days ago, the former president and Republican front-runner confirmed that he would be skipping the August 23 primary debate. According to a CBS poll, President Trump leads the field of Republican candidates with 62 percent support, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as his closest competitor.
In his Truth Social post, President Trump highlighted his achievements during his presidency, including energy independence, strong borders and military, tax and regulation cuts, a robust economy, and more.
He firmly stated, “I will therefore not be doing the debates!” President Trump also refused to sign the RNC’s allegiance pledge, which was a prerequisite for participating in the Republican primary event.
While Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum have committed to attending the debate and endorsing the eventual GOP nominee through the RNC pledge, former Vice President Mike Pence, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson have indicated their intention to attend as well.
The two-hour debate event, moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, will exclusively air on Fox News, Rumble, and associated platforms.
Before the debate, the Republican National Committee has identified candidates who meet the criteria for participation.
