LA Public Schools Partner with Couple Advocating Sex-Change Surgery for Kids
The Los Angeles Unified School District Hosts Training on the Wellbeing of Sexual and Gender Diverse Girls
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second largest public school district in the country, recently organized a training session for educators focused on the “wellbeing of sexual and gender diverse girls.” This engaging session was led by a married couple who are renowned for their work in facilitating gender transition treatments for children.
The LAUSD offered financial incentives to teachers who attended the training webinar featuring Aydin and Johanna Olson-Kennedy, two prominent figures in the world of transgender activism and medicine. Both individuals have held senior positions in organizations that provide irreversible gender transition treatments for children.
During the training, the couple, along with one of the school district’s diversity officers, shared valuable insights and information to make sex-change surgery more accessible for children. Aydin Olson-Kennedy, a woman who identifies as a man and is a licensed clinical social worker, is eligible to write approval letters for “gender-affirming procedures,” which she provides free of charge. Johanna Olson-Kennedy, her doctor wife, serves as the medical director of The Center for Transyouth Health at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the largest trans youth clinic in the country, catering to patients as young as three years old.
Teachers who attended the training were rewarded with salary points, which play a role in determining their payscale in Los Angeles. They also received continuing education credits, essential for maintaining certain teaching licenses in the state.
While the exact content of the webinar remains unclear, Aydin and Johanna Olson-Kennedy, as well as the district diversity officer, did not respond to requests for comment.
Advocating for Gender-Affirming Procedures and Informed-Consent Model
Aydin Olson-Kennedy strongly believes that consent letters for gender-affirming procedures should not be required for children. On her website, she states, “I believe requiring letters for gender-affirming procedures is a discriminatory practice that supports the continued disenfranchisement of transgender, gender non-conforming, and nonbinary community members.” She also follows the “informed-consent model” for prescribing care, allowing individuals to access hormone treatments and surgical interventions without undergoing mental health evaluation or referral from a mental health specialist, as mentioned in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology.
In 2017, Aydin Olson-Kennedy even promoted a fundraiser for an individual with Down syndrome to help cover the costs of an irreversible double mastectomy, indicating her lack of reservations about anyone undergoing sex change operations.
Johanna Olson-Kennedy, whose clinical interests include gender non-conforming children, transgender adolescents, and young adults, is a prominent figure in the transgender medical scene. As a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), she co-authored a study funded by the National Institutes of Health on the psychological effects of cross-sex hormone therapy on youth. Tragically, two participants in the study committed suicide, while another 11 experienced suicidal ideation.
Despite the knowledge that cross-sex hormone therapy can lead to sterility, the government-funded study was conducted by CHLA’s transgender clinic, as revealed by consent forms obtained by The Daily Wire.
LAUSD’s Promotion of Radical Gender Ideology
LAUSD has consistently promoted radical gender ideology among students. The district’s diversity official, Judy Chiasson, delivered a talk on “strategies for building affirming and inclusive schools” at a conference sponsored by surgical sex change clinics, which actively promote child transgenderism.
Chiasson’s department has also injected gender ideology into the classroom, encouraging students to engage in activities such as using “LGBTQ+ coloring books,” creating “ally pledge cards,” and playing “LGBTQ+ Bingo” to celebrate pride month. Additionally, LAUSD published a guide for administrators on how to host activities for LGBT pride clubs in elementary schools.
January Littlejohn, a patient advocate for Do No Harm, an organization dedicated to defending healthcare from the influence of radical ideologies, highlights the financial benefits gender clinics receive by convincing children they were born in the wrong body. Consequently, schools have become direct targets for promoting gender ideology.
