LA Burglary Ring Leader Gets 45+ Years in Jail

Leader​ of Los Angeles Burglary Ring Sentenced to Over 45 Years in Prison

In a‌ shocking case that has left residents of Los Angeles and San Diego County on edge, Gregory Shively, the ⁤mastermind behind a notorious residential burglary ​ring, has​ been handed a sentence ​of more than 45 years ‌in⁤ state prison.

Shively, along with three other gang‌ members from the LA ⁣area, embarked on a crime spree that saw them burglarize a ⁤staggering 38 homes between January 2017 and February 2018, ⁢according to the ​San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.

Described‌ as the “organizer⁣ and ringleader” of the crew,⁢ Shively was recently convicted on 57 ⁣counts by a jury.

Prosecutors revealed that​ Shively and his accomplices specifically targeted San Diego County for their burglaries, later ‌transporting the stolen property back to⁣ Los ‌Angeles County.

During their crime spree, the gang made off‌ with over​ $500,000 worth‌ of cash and jewelry.​ Shockingly, 10 of the burglaries occurred ​while​ the victims were still⁤ inside ⁣their homes, with one victim even being ​threatened at gunpoint when he ‌interrupted a break-in. Additionally, the defendants‌ callously⁢ pepper-sprayed several dogs throughout their criminal activities.

“This residential burglary syndicate stole the peace ‍and safety that people‌ are ​entitled⁢ to in their​ own homes,” stated San ‌Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan.

On August⁢ 22,⁢ Shively was sentenced to an astonishing 45 years ⁤and eight months in‌ prison. His co-defendants had previously been convicted or pleaded​ guilty,‌ receiving prison terms ranging from ‌11 to 16 years.
