Trump’s interview with Carlson: 5 Questions on Assassination, Civil War, and Jeffrey Epstein.
Former President Donald Trump is set to engage in a captivating interview with Tucker Carlson on Aug. 23, where he will delve into a range of highly controversial topics. This titillating counter-programming event may divert the attention of many from the Republican presidential debate airing at the same time.
During the interview, Mr. Carlson asked President Trump about the possibility of a civil war and whether his opponents may attempt to assassinate him.
It remains to be seen whether this interview, which will be published on X (formerly known as Twitter), will outshine the Fox News debate moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. However, an intense preview posted on Mr. Carlson’s page promises that the former president will address several bombshell questions.
“Whatever Happened to Mike Pence?”
“He’s out there attacking you. What is that?” asked Mr. Carlson.
Mr. Pence, who served as President Trump’s vice president, had a good working relationship with him until the events leading up to and on Jan. 6, 2021. On that day, President Trump called for Mr. Pence to overturn the 2020 election in his role as the congressional certifier of the presidential election results. However, Mr. Pence refused and instead certified the election for President Joe Biden.
Mr. Pence has consistently stated that he had no authority to overturn the election. He launched his presidential campaign in early June and emphasized that anyone who prioritizes themselves over the Constitution should never be President of the United States.
Regarding Mr. Pence, President Trump responded to Mr. Carlson, “In my opinion, Mike Pence had the absolute right to send the votes back to the legislatures.”
“I think he got very bad advice,” he added.
Did Jeffrey Epstein Kill Himself?
Mr. Epstein, a convicted sex offender facing charges of child sex trafficking, died in his prison cell under questionable circumstances. While authorities have concluded it was suicide, many Americans hold differing opinions on the cause of his death. President Trump, who had occasional social interactions with Mr. Epstein before his first presidential run, responded, “I don’t know. I will say that you know, he was a fixture in Palm Beach.”
‘Do You Think We’re Moving Toward Civil War?’
The ideological and political divisions among the American people have long fueled discussions about the possibility of a civil war. However, President Trump does not believe that conflict is imminent. He stated, “There’s tremendous passion and there’s tremendous love.”
Democrats have accused President Trump of inciting an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021. These accusations were part of his second impeachment trial, which ended in an acquittal.
‘Are You Worried You’ll Be Killed?’
Mr. Carlson raised concerns about potential threats to President Trump’s safety, asking, “Are you worried that they are going to try and kill you? Why wouldn’t they try to kill you, honestly?”
Former President Trump responded, “They’re savage animals. They are people that are sick.”
