More mentions than Trump during first GOP debate.

President Biden‌ Criticized More Than‍ Trump⁣ at GOP Debate

According to ‌a real-time ⁣analysis, President Joe ⁣Biden received more mentions and criticism than former President Donald Trump at the ​first GOP debate. The current⁣ president was mentioned at least 10 times⁢ more than his predecessor, as reported by‌ ABC News.

During the debate, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy faced the most attacks from other GOP candidates, ⁣followed ⁤by Florida Gov. DeSantis and former Vice President ‌Pence.

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and ⁣North⁤ Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum ⁣faced no direct attacks from the other ‍candidates.

Media analyses noted that President Trump was mentioned only a few times during the first⁤ half of ‌the ⁣debate. Fox ⁢News’ debate moderators even ⁣went​ nearly an hour​ without ⁢mentioning him, as part of their strategy to focus on other issues. However, ⁤the candidates were⁤ expected to bring up the former president’s indictments.

During the debate, the ‍moderators briefly discussed the potential incarceration of a nominee, ⁤which drew boos from the audience. The candidates were then‍ asked if they would continue to support President‌ Trump⁣ as the Republican Party’s nominee, even if he was convicted.

All of‌ the GOP candidates, except for former Gov. ⁢Hutchinson, raised their⁢ hands in support. Some ‌hesitation was observed from Gov. ‌DeSantis, who ultimately⁢ claimed that former Vice President ⁣Pence “did his duty” on January 6, 2021.

Mr. Baier, the debate⁤ moderator, reminded DeSantis that President Trump was leading in the polls​ and that his⁢ actions ⁢on January ⁣6th would be ‍a factor in the ⁣GOP primaries.

The debate also touched on the Republican National Committee’s rule that candidates ‌must​ pledge their support to the ultimate winner of ⁢the GOP primary. President Trump, who was not present at the⁣ debate, expressed his ⁤willingness‌ to sign‌ the pledge but stated that ​there were candidates he⁢ would⁢ not support.

During the debate, Vivek Ramaswamy praised President‍ Trump as the best president of the 21st century.
