Donald Trump Jr. accuses Fox News of censoring Trump supporters post-GOP debate.
Donald Trump Jr. Accuses Fox News of Silencing Trump Supporters
Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, has made a bold claim against Fox News. He believes that the network is actively trying to “silence” his father’s supporters following the GOP presidential primary debate in Milwaukee.
Trump Jr. attributes this alleged censorship to the decline in Fox News’ ratings and the overwhelming success of his father’s recent interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Trump Jr. states, “Fox News is trying to censor and silence Trump supporters to protect their hand-picked establishment candidates.” He believes that this censorship is a major factor in the network’s declining ratings.
Trump Jr. shared a post from Trump supporter Jack Posobiec, who claimed that Fox News ordered security to block Trump Jr. and Kim Guilfoyle from the post-debate spin room. This incident further supports Trump Jr.’s accusation of censorship.

That’s a big reason why their ratings are dying, while my father’s interview with Tucker Carlson is already at 93 million views!!! https://t.co/Qf4LI63BiB

The decision by Trump to skip the debate likely played a role in Fox News’ actions. As the front-runner in the 2024 GOP race, Trump’s absence from the debate deprived his surrogates of spin room credentials.
The Hill reported that Fox News informed campaigns that only surrogates of candidates who attended the debate would receive spin room credentials. This is where allies and supporters of candidates typically lobby media outlets for favorable coverage.
Instead of attending the debate, Trump opted for an interview with Tucker Carlson that aired just minutes before the GOP debate on Fox News. The interview took place at Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, and covered various topics, including President Joe Biden, criminal indictments against Trump, the death of Jeffrey Epstein, and electric vehicles.

By Thursday, Trump’s interview with Carlson had garnered over 200 million “views” according to X’s formula, further highlighting the immense popularity of the interview.
