DeSantis highlights law and order achievements, pledges military action against Mexican cartels.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Vows to Take on Drug Cartels
In a fiery GOP primary debate, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis showcased his strong law and order record as governor. He proudly highlighted his removal of woke prosecutors and made a bold promise: if elected president, he would send the U.S. Military into Mexico to eliminate the drug cartels wreaking havoc on America.
The 44-year-old governor, representing America’s third most populated state, was asked by moderator Martha MacCallum if he would support sending special forces into Mexico to deal with the cartels. DeSantis didn’t hesitate to respond, stating, “Yes, and I will do it on day one. The President of the United States has to use all available powers as commander-in-chief to protect our country and its people. We will use lethal force to stop them. How many more tens of thousands are we going to let die?”
DeSantis continued, passionately emphasizing the urgency of the situation, “The poison they are bringing in is causing deaths all across this country. As president, I would treat them as foreign terrorist organizations and use force to combat them. You’re darn right I would.”

DeSantis Stands Firm on Crime in Florida
Later in the debate, DeSantis engaged in a heated exchange with co-moderator Bret Baier regarding crime in Florida. Baier claimed that crime was on the rise in the state, to which DeSantis firmly responded, “Crime is at a 50-year low, and we’re happy with that. Statewide, it’s at a 50-year low.”
Baier interjected, pointing out that this wasn’t the case in Miami. However, DeSantis stood his ground, emphasizing that the overall crime rate in the state was indeed at a historic low.
DeSantis then shifted the conversation to address what he believes is a root cause of the issue, stating, “These hollowed-out cities are a symptom of America’s decline. One of the biggest reasons is because you have George Soros funding these radical left-wing district attorneys. They refuse to prosecute crimes they disagree with, allowing the inmates to run the asylum.”
He further explained his actions as governor, saying, “When we had two of these district attorneys in Florida, elected with Soros funding, who said they wouldn’t do their job, I removed them from their posts. They are done. As president, we will go after all of these people because they are hurting the quality of life and victimizing innocent people in this country. It will stop when I take office.”
