Wisconsin residents find explicit books in kids’ libraries.
Concerned Locals Allege Sexually Explicit and Inappropriate Books in Kenosha School Libraries
According to concerned locals in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the school libraries in the area are housing a collection of 162 books that contain sexually explicit, pro-transgender, pro-abortion, and anti-Christian content. Blaise Mahoney, a volunteer teacher at a local Catholic church, expressed his alarm at the explicit nature of these books, comparing them to the tactics used by sexual predators. He emphasized the need for parents to have the authority to opt out and protect their children from such material.

Parents’ rights are being violated by allowing children unrestricted access to these explicit books, Mr. Mahoney argued. He and his wife, Karen Mahoney, discovered the presence of sexually explicit material in local school libraries after learning about a drag queen story hour at a nearby public library. Concerned, they reached out to the librarian, only to be met with resistance and accusations of breaking library rules.
Mrs. Mahoney, in collaboration with the parental rights activism group Mass Resistance, filed a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain a list of the books in question. Their research revealed that these books promote radical gender ideology and contain sexually graphic content, even in elementary schools. The couple believes that such books have no place in school libraries and likened them to material found in adult bookstores.
The Battle to Protect Children
While the presence of sexually explicit books in schools may be shocking, it is unfortunately a common occurrence across America. Parents have documented a surge in such books, prompting calls for a book rating system to safeguard children from age-inappropriate content. However, attempts to oppose these books often lead to political controversy, with accusations of book bans and hatred towards homosexuality.
The American Library Association (ALA) has also played a role in advocating for the inclusion of pro-radical gender ideology books in schools. Their website even suggested “sneaking” inclusive messages into existing programs. The ALA labels attempts to remove sexually explicit books as censorship, and their list of most-challenged books includes titles with explicit sexual content and pedophilia.
Kenosha parents are shocked and outraged by the presence of these books in their schools. Caleb Laitinen, a local resident and volunteer, emphasized the importance of preserving the purity and innocence of children, stating that schools should be a safe space for them. The origins of these books and the individuals responsible for their inclusion in school libraries remain unclear, leaving many unanswered questions.
