UAP Caucus formed, members seek answers from Intel Community Inspector General.
Rep. Tim Burchett Calls for Answers on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena
On Monday, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) released a letter directed to Thomas Monheim, the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IGIC), asking him to provide answers to several questions relating to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).
The letter — which was signed by Burchett, as well as five other representatives — came at the same time as a press release establishing the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon Caucus in the House of Representatives.
During July’s blockbuster hearing on UAP, whistleblower David Grusch “declined to answer several questions in a public setting, stating that the information requested was classified,” and would require disclosure inside a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF), the letter to Monheim states.
The letter continues, noting that despite Grusch’s inability to provide the names of individuals with alleged direct knowledge of covert government UAP programs, such information was provided to the Inspector General.
Grusch alleged in his testimony that he had spoken with approximately 40 individuals over the course of four years who shared information pertaining to secret crash retrieval and reverse engineering programs outside of Congressional oversight.
In light of the roadblocks to information access these members of Congress have encountered, the representatives asked Monheim the following questions:
- Which intelligence community members, positions, facilities, military bases, or other actors are involved with UAP crash retrieval programs, directly or indirectly?
- Which intelligence community members, positions, facilities, military bases, or other actors are involved with UAP reverse engineering programs, directly or indirectly?
During the UAP hearing, David Grusch testified he could not provide specific details about UAP crash retrieval programs or reverse engineering programs, but said the Intelligence Community Inspector General could. So my colleagues and I wrote to him to ask for details. pic.twitter.com/Y8EuXOZMOJ

The congressmembers provided Monheim with a deadline of September 15 to answer their questions, and if such material is classified, “we request access to this information in a secure setting no later than September 26.”
The Daily Wire reached out to Monheim’s office for comment.
When asked why it was decided to send this letter now, Burchett told The Daily Wire, “I’m just fed up with the runaround from the war pimps at the Pentagon, the people in Congress, and I want to get to the bottom of this.”

Following July’s hearing, Burchett — as well as Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) — co-signed a letter to Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) asking for a Select Committee “outside the jurisdiction of any standing committee” and “with subpoena authority.”
A Select Committee has not been publicly established as of this reporting, and McCarthy’s office has not responded to multiple requests for comment regarding such a committee.
