LeBron James’ son diagnosed with heart defect after cardiac arrest.

Doctors have made a significant discovery about the sudden cardiac arrest of Bronny James, the 18-year-old son of NBA Lakers star LeBron ‍James. They⁢ believe that a congenital heart defect ‍was the likely cause of the incident, according to a family spokesperson on Aug. 26.

Last month, Bronny James,⁤ the ⁢oldest of the three James siblings, experienced a cardiac arrest while practicing⁤ basketball at the University of ⁤Southern California (USC) on July 24.

He was immediately rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and thankfully discharged three days⁢ later.

A family spokesperson revealed⁢ that the probable cause of Bronny James’s cardiac⁣ arrest, where his heart ‌stopped beating, was identified “after a comprehensive initial evaluation”‍ at the medical center and subsequent evaluations at the Mayo⁣ Clinic and Atlantic Health/Morristown Medical Center.

“It is an anatomically and⁤ functionally significant Congenital Heart⁤ Defect which can and will ⁣be treated,” stated the spokesperson.

The spokesperson expressed ⁢confidence in Bronny James’s full recovery and his ability to “return to basketball ‍in the very near future.”

“We will continue to⁢ provide updates to media and respectfully reiterate‍ the family’s ⁣request for privacy,” the statement reads.

Bronny James, also known as LeBron James Jr., committed to USC ‍in May after ⁢gaining ⁣recognition as one‌ of the nation’s top prospects from Sierra Canyon School in nearby Chatsworth.⁢ However, he did⁢ not join the‍ Trojans on their European tour this month.

Cardiac Arrest ‍Speculation

Previously, there was widespread speculation on social media regarding the cause of Bronny James’s cardiac arrest.‍ Elon‍ Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter), even suggested that the COVID-19 vaccination could be the cause. [source]

“We cannot ascribe everything to the vaccine, but, by the same token, we cannot ascribe nothing. Myocarditis is ⁤a known‍ side-effect.‍ The‍ only question is whether it is rare or‍ common,” stated Mr. Musk.

On July 26, CNN interviewed its own medical analyst, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who ‌emphasized that sudden cardiac arrest events involving young athletes are “more common than people realize.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter McCullough, a ⁣top‍ cardiologist and COVID-19 vaccine skeptic, ⁢responded by⁢ suggesting a connection.

“We are seeing a wide range⁣ of vaccine-associated collapses‌ among⁤ on-screen reporters, athletes, and many others that can be caused by POTS ⁣(postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), which has a benign⁣ prognosis ⁣all the way to myocarditis and ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation, which can‌ be ‌fatal,” wrote ⁤Dr. McCullough on his Substack⁣ page.

He‍ added that detailed information about the COVID-19 vaccine, administration dates, initial cardiac rhythm, and subsequent cardiac testing are necessary to determine the prognosis.

Bronny James’s cardiac arrest is the second incident⁤ within the USC program in ⁣two years. Former⁣ player Vince Iwuchukwu also suffered a cardiac arrest during⁢ a team practice‍ last year. [source]
