New ‌York Governor Kathy Hochul ⁣recently urged President Joe Biden ⁢to take prompt and significant ⁤action to address the illegal immigrants crisis⁤ in the state. She emphasized that managing and controlling the nation’s borders⁤ is the federal government’s direct responsibility. Governor Hochul highlighted the‌ arrival of over 100,000 illegal immigrants in New York City since‌ the⁢ spring of 2022, primarily from the⁤ U.S. southern border.

In July, the ‍city announced that illegal immigrants would be given a 60-day notice ​to ​find​ alternate housing and ​move out of the shelters​ provided to them.
