No Labels, a third-party organization, plans to hold its 2024 nominating convention in April.
The No Labels Party Plans Nominating Convention for 2024 Presidential Election
The No Labels third party has exciting news for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. They have announced their plans to hold a nominating convention in April, aiming to select their nominee for the race. Former Sen. Joe Lieberman, the founding chair of the centrist group, shared this exciting development on Fox News Sunday.
“We already have scheduled a bipartisan convention,” Lieberman said. “Think about it. We haven’t seen that ever in recent history. A bipartisan nominating convention for Dallas, Texas, in April of next year.”
Lieberman emphasized that the group’s primary focus at the moment is determining their chances of victory, which they increasingly believe are promising.
“Our plan is to only run if we think we have a chance to win realistically,” Lieberman said. “And look, we just finished a poll of 10,000 voters in the eight battleground states. And we give them a choice of Trump, Biden, and a moderate independent third choice, and 63 percent say that they’re open to a moderate Independent third choice.”
While the specific process for selecting the candidate remains undisclosed, there are indications that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is a likely contender for the No Labels Party. Although he hasn’t made a definitive commitment, he has hinted at the possibility in recent months. In fact, Manchin participated in the first town hall event hosted by No Labels alongside former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman in July.
However, not everyone is supportive of the No Labels Party. Democrats have expressed concerns that the party’s involvement could divide votes and potentially lead to a Republican candidate winning the White House in 2024. Rep. Annie Kuster (D-NH) voiced her opposition, stating, “Let me be clear: No Labels is trying to use a false message of unity to sow division. Their plan to run a third-party ticket in 2024 will pave the path for the most extreme, far-right candidate to win the White House — namely, former President Trump.”
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, the No Labels Party’s nominating convention in April will undoubtedly be a significant event to watch.
