Tragically, the helicopter crashed into an apartment building in Pompano Beach, Florida, causing the loss of life for one woman inside the building.
In a news conference, Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony shared the devastating news that one crewman, Captain Terryson Jackson, lost his life in the crash. Sheriff Tony, visibly emotional, expressed his deep connection to Captain Jackson, whom he had known for 14 years.
Sheriff Tony paid tribute to Captain Jackson in a heartfelt post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Additionally, four individuals sustained injuries in the crash and received medical treatment at a local hospital. As a precautionary measure, all aircraft belonging to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office have been temporarily grounded for re-inspection.
