Most Americans own or desire firearms, despite Democrats’ fear tactics.

Majority of Americans Embrace Gun Ownership for Protection

A recent poll ⁢conducted by Pew‍ Research reveals that a‌ majority of Americans are not only happy gun owners but also prospective ones who value firearms as a means⁢ of self-defense. Contrary to⁤ the anti-gun rhetoric often ⁣heard from Democrats, this sentiment cuts across all demographics, with Americans enjoying their Second Amendment rights either through personal gun ⁣ownership or living with⁣ someone ‍who owns a gun.

Nearly two-thirds of ⁢Americans ‍either already live in a⁤ household with a gun or have expressed ‌interest in purchasing one⁣ in the future. This surge in gun ownership ⁢is the highest ⁢since 2011, indicating that even those who are not firearm owners yet ‍may soon join the ranks.

In 2017, when Pew last measured Americans’ attitudes towards guns, only 67 percent of firearm owners cited protection as their reason for owning ‍guns. However, after years of soaring gun sales due to⁤ rising crime rates and the ‍summer 2020⁣ riots, this number has now risen to 72 percent.

Overall, 81 percent of gun ⁣owners feel safer owning a firearm, while even a majority‌ of non-gun owners (57 percent) feel safer if someone in their household ⁤owns a ‌gun.

Interestingly, gun ownership among women has seen a significant increase in recent years, with 25 percent of females now owning a ‌firearm compared ⁣to just 22 ‌percent in 2017.

Gun Ownership Trends Among Different Groups

Pew’s research also reveals that gun ownership remains higher among rural, Republican voters compared to⁤ urbanites and Democrats. However, there has been a slight increase in firearm ownership among urban dwellers and⁢ Democrats in the past five years.

Approximately 4 percent more blue voters claim⁣ to own guns now ‌compared to 2017, ‌with a 6 percent‍ increase in the number of Democrats having guns in their households.

While⁤ Pew‍ attempted to overshadow their findings by highlighting that 61 percent of Americans believe it is too easy to obtain a gun in the U.S., the poll failed to address how⁤ law-abiding citizens feel about left-leaning legislation that aims to restrict their Second Amendment rights.

Despite ‌the fact that mass shootings increased during the 1994 ban on “assault weapons,” Democrats, led⁣ by President Joe Biden, are pushing for another ban on the most popular semi-automatic rifles on ⁤the market.

“The idea we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased ‌is sick,” Biden ‌ said ⁣in November 2022. “It has⁤ no socially redeeming value. Zero. None. ⁤Not a single solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers.”

However, implementing such⁣ unconstitutional gun control policies would deprive Americans of ‍their ability to protect themselves as they see fit.
