A⁢ New Poll Reveals a Dip in Support for GOP Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy

A new poll shows GOP candidate Vivek ⁢Ramaswamy dipping in the polls after⁢ last week’s presidential debate, in which rival candidates criticized him as inexperienced.

Ramaswamy fell from 55 percent approval to 53 percent following‍ the debate, and his unfavorable rating rose by 7 points to 19 percent, according ​to a Morning‍ Consult poll conducted from⁢ August 24 to 27.

Before the debate,⁢ 10 percent of voters‍ said Ramaswamy ​was the most electable candidate against President Joe Biden; ⁢now the number is 6 percent. Former president Donald Trump rose by 9 points as the most electable‌ in the ​poll.

The⁤ polling ​hit comes‌ as opponents have framed the 38-year-old entrepreneur as inexperienced.

Criticism from Fellow Republicans

Fellow Republican candidate Chris​ Christie‌ christie-says-ramaswamy-is-another-obama-skinny-guy-with-an-odd-last-name/”>slammed Ramaswamy for his political inexperience during this month’s debate, comparing him to former president Barack ‌Obama.

“The last person in one of these debates … who stood in the ⁤middle of the‍ stage and said, ‘What’s a skinny guy with an odd last name doing up ‍here?’ was Barack Obama,” Christie said. “I’m afraid‌ we’re‌ dealing with the same ‌kind of amateur.”

Former U.S.​ ambassador⁣ to the ⁤United Nations Nikki Haley joined in ‌on the attack.

“You have no foreign policy experience​ and it shows,” Haley⁣ said ⁣during the debate.

Resurfaced Footage Raises Questions

Meanwhile, newly uncovered footage from 2003 shows an 18-year-old Ramaswamy pressing Al Sharpton, who was running⁢ for‌ president in 2003, about​ his ⁣lack of political experience.

“Of all the Democratic candidates out there, ‌why should I vote for the one⁣ with the⁢ least political experience?” he asked Sharpton in the resurfaced MSNBC clip.
