Sen. Tim Scott Unveils Bold Education and Technology Plan
In his bid for the GOP nomination in the 2024 presidential election, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has announced an innovative education and technology plan aimed at defending America’s children, empowering parents, and protecting kids online.
“Teachers’ unions, Big Tech, and Joe Biden are on a mission to make parents less important,” Scott emphasized in a news release. “I have a bold agenda to support and empower parents — from the classroom to the locker room to the smartphone. We must empower parents and give them a choice, so that every child has a chance.”
Following his participation in the first Republican Party presidential primary debate, where he received positive reactions, Sen. Scott, 57, has hit the campaign trail with renewed vigor. He plans to engage with parents, homeschool advocates, and voters during a six-day, three-state blitz, starting in his home state of South Carolina, which holds the first Southern primary in the GOP presidential nomination.
A Parent’s Bill of Rights
At the core of Scott’s plan is a comprehensive “parent’s bill of rights” consisting of three key components. These components aim to counter the attack on family values and religious liberty, often perpetuated by Democrat-run states and left-wing school districts promoting identity politics and radical gender theory.
- Restore American childhood by allowing ”girls and boys to be girls and boys, not guinea pigs.”
- Save Title IX and women’s sports by ensuring that individuals compete against others of the same biological sex.
- Enact a nationwide school choice option to break the influence of teachers unions and reject the false notions of “equity” and attacks on honors classes.
Additionally, Scott’s plan includes efforts to rebuild the Department of Justice, which he believes has turned a blind eye to far-left threats and vandalism against conservative organizations. He aims to restore confidence and integrity to the department, ensuring it protects conservatives and conservative organizations.

“We have a lot of work to do to make sure that we have the Department of Justice restoring confidence and integrity — not just by not weaponizing itself against political enemies, but also protecting conservatives and conservative organizations by having lady justice return that blindfold to her eyes,” Scott expressed during an interview with The Daily Wire’s Morning Wire podcast.
Protecting Children Online
Under Scott’s proposal, he also aims to address concerns regarding big tech companies and their impact on children’s attention spans. He highlights the potential privacy risks posed by foreign apps like TikTok, which allegedly share user data with the Chinese Communist Party. To combat these issues, Scott suggests implementing country-of-origin labels for apps and empowering parents with greater control over their children’s information.
“You should know where your app comes from,” Scott emphasized. “And that would allow parents to be in greater charge and control over who has access to their children’s information.”
The Democratic National Committee swiftly criticized Scott’s education and technology plan, claiming it aligns with the GOP’s agenda to undermine public education and harm children’s gender identity.
“Tim Scott has spent his career working to defund public education and gut programs that millions of students across the country rely on, all to divert taxpayer dollars to wealthy private schools,” stated DNC spokesperson Ammar Moussa in a statement. “Our students, teachers, and parents deserve better than Scott and MAGA Republicans’ extreme agendas that would devastate public education and harm education across the country.”
