Man admits to committing burglaries at Cal State Fullerton.

Man Pleads Guilty to‌ Multiple ⁤Break-Ins at Cal State Fullerton

In an engaging turn of⁤ events, ⁢a ‍42-year-old man ​named John Michael Nicely has pleaded guilty to multiple break-ins ⁢of vehicles​ and ‍sheds at Cal⁢ State Fullerton. This ​daring criminal has been⁤ sentenced⁤ to 90 days in​ jail⁢ for ⁢his crimes.

Nicely’s guilty plea ‍includes three counts of ⁣burglary, as well ⁣as charges ​of grand theft, receiving stolen property, ⁣vandalism, and having a dangerous and deadly weapon on campus. These are all serious felonies. Additionally, he has‌ pleaded guilty to possession of burglary tools and a controlled substance, both misdemeanor charges.

As ⁢part of his punishment, Nicely has been ordered to do 10 days of Caltrans labor and placed on two years of formal probation.

Co-Defendant Also‍ Pleads Guilty

Notably, Nicely’s co-defendant, Ryan Chase Bumgarner, has also pleaded guilty to similar charges. ‍Bumgarner, 36, admitted‍ to three counts of ⁢burglary, as well as grand theft, receiving stolen property, vandalism, possession​ of dangerous and deadly weapons on campus, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a ⁣controlled‍ substance. He ⁣has been sentenced to ​82 days in ‌jail and placed ‌on two years of formal probation.

The Arrest and​ Stolen ⁣Goods

The daring duo’s crime spree was brought ‍to an end when Cal State Fullerton ‍police officers on patrol spotted a truck full of ⁤stolen ‍equipment in a campus parking facility. Acting on their ​suspicions, the officers quickly​ apprehended Bumgarner and Nicely ⁢with the assistance of Fullerton police.

According⁢ to‌ Cal State Fullerton police Capt. Scot ‍Willey, Bumgarner and Nicely are childhood friends who decided to⁤ indulge⁣ in methamphetamine use ⁣and embark on a thieving adventure⁢ at⁢ their alma mater.

The ‌stolen goods included⁢ equipment belonging to plumbers and electricians, with an estimated value of $5,000. Additionally, police‌ recovered stolen personal paperwork that investigators suspect was being used for identity theft, insurance ​fraud, and⁣ unemployment fraud.
