Tragic Accident in North Hollywood

LOS ANGELES—A pedestrian was struck and killed by ⁢an Amtrak train in North Hollywood in the evening on⁤ Sept. 1.

Firefighters were called at 9:38 p.m. to 12099 Sherman Road, east of Laurel ​Canyon Boulevard,⁢ where they learned the San Diego-bound Pacific ‌Surfliner train carrying around 116 passengers hit the approximately 50-year-old woman, said Los Angeles Fire​ Department spokesman Brian​ Humphrey.

The woman was pronounced​ dead⁢ at the scene.

No injuries among the train’s crew and the passengers​ were reported.

The train came to an emergency stop and remains just east of the collision site and the⁤ passengers remain ‍on board the train pending its release ⁤by⁢ Los Angeles ​Police Department investigators, Humphrey said.
