Escaped Pennsylvania prison killer caught on nearby surveillance cameras.
Convicted Murderer on the Run After Prison Escape
In a thrilling turn of events, a recently convicted murderer has managed to escape from a suburban Philadelphia prison and has been on the run for days. The fugitive, Danelo Cavalcante, was spotted by residential security cameras in the early hours of Saturday morning, not far from the prison.
The circumstances of Cavalcante’s escape from Chester State Prison are still unknown, and authorities are currently investigating the incident. Just last month, Cavalcante was sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend in front of her children. He escaped while awaiting transfer to a state prison.
According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, Cavalcante was captured on cameras around 12:30 a.m. in Pocopson Township, approximately 1.5 miles from the prison.

Local police have also received reports of an attempted burglary at a nearby home, raising suspicions of Cavalcante’s involvement. However, further investigation is required to confirm his connection to the incident.
Authorities have provided a description of Cavalcante, stating that his appearance has not changed since his escape. He is described as wearing a white T-shirt, carrying a backpack, and having curly black hair, a closely cropped beard, and mustache. He stands at 5 feet tall and weighs 120 pounds.
Notably, Cavalcante is wanted in his native Brazil for a separate slaying in 2017, making him an extremely dangerous individual. Prosecutors believe he killed his girlfriend to prevent her from reporting his charges in Brazil. After the murder, he was captured in Virginia, and authorities suspect he was attempting to flee back to his home country.
Law enforcement agencies are sparing no effort in their search for Cavalcante. Drones, helicopters, and dogs are being utilized to locate him, with a focus on railways, waterways, and potential escape routes. The prison is located approximately 25 miles west of Philadelphia.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan has stated that authorities believe Cavalcante is attempting to flee south. However, there is currently no evidence to suggest that he has left the area or that he is receiving assistance from others.
Area residents are urged to remain vigilant and review footage from their doorbells or surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity. They are also advised to check their vehicles, sheds, and other outbuildings for any signs of Cavalcante. Additionally, people should keep an eye on the homes of vacationing neighbors and report any missing cars, bicycles, or other means of transportation that Cavalcante could potentially use to aid his escape.
The Brazilian consulate has been notified of Cavalcante’s escape, and authorities are working closely with them to ensure his capture.
This incident marks another escape from a Pennsylvania prison this year, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures.
