Oliver Anthony shares Proverbs 4:20 with Joe Rogan.

Music Sensation ⁢Oliver Anthony Shares Biblical Insights with Joe Rogan

Music sensation Oliver Anthony surprised podcast host and UFC commentator Joe⁢ Rogan with a biblical⁣ insight ‌during their conversation on the Joe Rogan Experience. Anthony, whose hit song “Rich Men North of Richmond” catapulted him ‍to⁤ fame in August, ⁣revealed that his⁢ Christian faith is a ‌fundamental part of his life.

Anthony Finds Peace‍ in the Bible

Anthony expressed⁣ how he⁣ has ⁣found immense⁣ peace from reading the Bible.‌ He shared this‌ revelation with Rogan, ‌who was curious about his⁣ experience with the holy book.

“What was the feeling that you have?”⁢ Rogan ‍asked. “What caused you to act? What was it like when you did it?”

In⁤ response, Anthony recounted a moment⁣ of hopelessness and health complications that led him to embark on his spiritual journey. He⁤ described feeling⁣ utterly hopeless, comparing it to the helplessness a 4-year-old child‍ experiences ‌when unable to find ‌their parents. It was in that⁢ moment that⁢ Anthony made a decision to⁢ surrender and seek guidance from⁤ God.

“I just decided like right then⁤ and there, like, I know I can’t do ⁤this anymore, but I know there’s things I need to do, and I just told ‌God … I‌ was like, just let ⁤me do it, and I’ll give ‌all this s*** up. I’ll give⁣ up the weed, and I’ll‍ quit getting drunk, and ‍I’ll quit being so angry about things.”

Determined ⁣to start afresh, Anthony committed to ‌making God ‍the center of his life. Through this shift ‌in perspective,‌ he discovered wisdom within‍ the ⁣Bible, which he eagerly shared with Rogan.

Profound Wisdom from Proverbs 4:20

Anthony⁢ highlighted a particular passage that resonated with‍ him, Proverbs 4:20,⁣ which he‍ believed Rogan would appreciate. ⁣Rogan, known for his affinity for ⁣marijuana, couldn’t help but laugh at the irony.

“Read it,” Rogan said. “Preach.”

Anthony proceeded to recite the⁤ passage: “My son, pay attention to what I say;‍ turn your ear to ⁤my‌ words.⁣ Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to ⁤those who find them and⁢ health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your ‍heart, ‍for everything you do flows from it.”

The ‌passage continues with valuable advice:⁢ “Keep your‍ mouth free from perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your ⁤lips. Let‍ your eyes look straight ahead;⁣ fix your gaze directly⁣ before you. Give careful ⁤thought to the‌ paths for your feet and be ‍steadfast ⁤in all your ways. Do not ‌turn to the ‌right⁢ or the left; keep your foot from evil.”

Rogan was deeply moved by the profound wisdom contained in these verses.

Proverbs,⁤ according to ⁣Anthony, is ⁣not preachy but rather offers valuable guidance akin to a ⁣father advising his son.
