Biden criticized for neglecting East Palestine, Ohio: ‘Too busy, huh?’

President Biden Faces Criticism for ‍Not‌ Visiting Ohio⁢ Train Derailment‌ Site

President ⁢Joe Biden’s explanation for not visiting the site of East Palestine, Ohio’s train derailment‌ has sparked controversy and gained viral attention online.⁤ During a visit to Live⁣ Oak, Florida, in the aftermath of Hurricane ⁢Idalia, Biden responded to a reporter’s ⁣question⁣ about the train derailment that occurred in February.⁤ The incident resulted in rail cars catching fire and authorities conducting a controlled ‌burn, releasing hazardous substances into the air, such as hydrogen chloride and phosgene.

Backlash Over Biden’s Response

Biden’s response⁣ to⁣ the ⁤question drew criticism from ⁢various individuals. Republican National⁣ Committee Research Communications Director Tommy Piggott highlighted Biden’s vacation days, ⁣stating, “Joe Biden has spent 75 days on vacation in the last 6 months, including 19 days in August alone.” RNC spokeswoman Madison Gesiotto Gilbert expressed frustration, saying, “You’re literally going on vacation, AGAIN! Ohioans have given up on your supposed ’empathy’ and visit to East Palestine.”

Senator J.D. Vance ‍(R-OH) sarcastically commented, “Like ski trips and beach vacations? Yeah, you’ve been so busy.” User Radhee J. Shanker criticized Biden’s choice not to visit ⁢East Palestine, ⁢stating, “What an absolute garbage ‍answer. East Palestine is a 1-hour flight from DC. You could drive it in five hours. He ⁣has made the conscious ⁤choice to avoid the people of East Palestine, and there is a clear reason for this: because at this point they know⁢ he is a liar.”

Podcaster⁣ Stephen Miller sarcastically mocked Biden’s ‌priorities, writing, “I would go to Ohio but I have to⁢ go‍ check on India and Vietnam first, so it’s going to be a while ‌even though⁤ I just said I was thinking of going this week after 8 ⁤months and 23 days on the beach and dementia.”

Recent Vacations and Controversy

The Bidens had planned to spend Labor ‍Day⁤ weekend ⁣at ⁣their‌ home near Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, so the ⁣president traveled from Florida to the beach. Notably, Hunter Biden, his wife Melissa Cohen, their‌ son Beau, and First Lady Jill Biden recently vacationed in Lake Tahoe while Congress ⁤was not in session last month.

Biden also visited ⁣Maui due to the wildfires that broke out on the island. However, he⁤ faced criticism for waiting two weeks before visiting the island, ⁢as he was vacationing in ‌Delaware when the fires initially started in early August.
