Jordan subpoenas foreign dark money group over alleged collusion with Big Tech, Biden administration.
The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Demands Answers on Censorship Collusion
The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, is taking a stand against censorship and demanding transparency. He is calling out a pro-censorship group with ties to a pro-Chinese organization, urging them to hand over any information related to possible collusion with the Biden administration and Big Tech in censoring Americans.
On August 3, Rep. Jordan sent a letter to Imran Ahmed, the CEO of the far-left think tank Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), demanding details about their work with the federal government to silence opponents of the Biden administration. The letter, which can be found here, highlights the concern that certain organizations, like CCDH, have played a role in advising the government and social media companies on censoring content labeled as “misinformation.”
Rep. Jordan’s letter also points out specific instances where CCDH’s actions have led to the censorship of American voices. For example, the Biden administration used CCDH’s 2021 report, “The Disinformation Dozen,” to pressure social media platforms into censoring individuals who questioned the left’s COVID-19 narrative. Notably, Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was among those censored as a result of this campaign.
In a follow-up letter to Ahmed, Rep. Jordan emphasized the need for effective legislation to limit the Executive Branch’s ability to collaborate with social media platforms and restrict the circulation of content. The letter, available here, highlights the importance of understanding the nature and extent of the White House’s coercion and collusion with organizations like CCDH in order to curtail unconstitutional censorship activities.
Unfortunately, CCDH has failed to provide the House Judiciary Committee with the requested documents, hindering the committee’s constitutional oversight obligations. This refusal to cooperate raises serious concerns about the Biden administration’s collaboration with far-left organizations to push for online censorship.
The Troubling Connection
What makes this situation even more alarming is the nature of the group involved. According to Breitbart, CCDH is a British nonprofit funded by the Oak Foundation, a shadowy investment entity based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Oak Foundation has a history of advocating for radical leftist causes and has even provided funding for communist China’s efforts to dominate global trading networks.
It is deeply concerning that the President and his administration may be colluding with an outside group that has ties to entities hostile to American interests. Our Republic relies on transparency and a free exchange of information. Allowing outside groups with hostile interests to intervene and manipulate the conversation could have disastrous consequences for our nation.
If these allegations are true, it means that the White House has compromised our First Amendment rights by aligning with foreign interest groups. This is a significant problem that must be addressed to preserve our freedoms.
Congress must take action to ensure that those who are hostile to our way of life have no influence over our government. Our democracy depends on it.
