Remaining Eligible Alaska Residents to Receive 2022 Permanent Fund Dividend Payment in Eight Days

Attention, Alaska residents! If you have an “eligible-not paid” status for⁣ the 2022 Permanent Fund Dividend, get ready to receive your payment in just eight days.

The state has already distributed payments of up to $3,284 to most eligible recipients⁢ of the dividend. ⁤However, if you had the⁢ eligible status by September 6th, mark your calendars for ‌September 14th, as that’s when⁣ your payment will be on its way.

What ‍is the Permanent Fund Dividend?

The Permanent Fund Dividend is an ‍annual payment⁢ sent to Alaska residents based on state mineral revenues for that year. Its purpose is to benefit ‍both current and future generations.

In 2022, Governor Mike Dunleavy (R-AK) highlighted the significance of the PFD, stating that the amount ‍of $3,284, ‌or a total of $13,000 for a family of⁢ four, can greatly help offset the soaring costs of energy and food, prepare for winter, pay off debts, save for college, or serve any other purpose.

Qualifications and Application Process

To qualify for the yearly dividend payment, you must be an Alaska resident who intends ‍to remain⁣ in the state indefinitely. Additionally, you should meet other requirements, such as not being a convicted felon and not claiming residency in another state during‍ the dividend year.

Residents in Alaska can ‍apply for the dividend from January 1st to March 31st each year. While late applications are generally not accepted, there are exceptions for special circumstances.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2023 Permanent Fund‌ Dividend payment amounts, which are expected to be sent out to most eligible residents⁣ starting in October.
