Ramaswamy Campaign denies Free Beacon access due to appearance on anti-Semitic YouTuber’s podcast.
Vivek Ramaswamy’s Campaign Cuts Ties with Washington Free Beacon
Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign has made the decision to sever its connection with the Washington Free Beacon following their recent report. The Free Beacon revealed that Ramaswamy appeared on a podcast hosted by an anti-Semitic YouTuber.
The Free Beacon also brought attention to the anti-Semitic remarks made by social media influencer Albert Faleski, also known as “An0maly,” during the interview with Ramaswamy. Faleski claimed that both the left and right advocate for “speech censorship on behalf of big Jewish power.”
Spokeswoman Responds
Ramaswamy’s spokeswoman, Tricia McLaughlin, criticized the Free Beacon for highlighting Faleski’s comments in relation to Ramaswamy’s appearance on the show. She accused the publication of acting in “bad faith” and announced that the campaign will no longer grant the Free Beacon access.
McLaughlin clarified that Ramaswamy agreed to appear on Faleski’s show due to the campaign’s open media policy, which includes engaging with controversial outlets. She emphasized that Ramaswamy was unaware of Faleski’s anti-Semitic remarks prior to the interview and may have still participated even if he had known.
However, it seems that this open media policy does not extend to the Free Beacon.
Interview Details
During the interview, Faleski questioned Ramaswamy about his biotech background, work in China, and support for the COVID-19 vaccine. Notably, they did not discuss Faleski’s views on Jews or Israel.
Faleski, who has been labeled “Antisemite of the Week” by StopAntisemitism.com, frequently accuses the Republican Party on Twitter of being influenced by “Zionists” and “Jewish donors.”
In various tweets, Faleski has claimed that “Zionists control the Republican Party” and that they pass anti-American speech laws for their own benefit.
Furthermore, Faleski objects to the U.S. government’s definition of anti-Semitism, arguing that it restricts free speech by labeling certain statements as hate speech.
On his YouTube show, Faleski has made additional anti-Jewish statements, asserting that Zionism prioritizes Israel over America and criticizing prominent Jewish figures in the media.
