Trump ally to cooperate with DOJ, implicate 45 in potential crime – report.
Former Mar-a-Lago IT Director Agrees to Cooperate with Special Counsel
The former Mar-a-Lago information technology director, Yuscil Taveras, has reportedly agreed to cooperate with special counsel Jack Smith’s office. In exchange for his cooperation, Taveras will not face criminal charges.
ABC News has reported that Taveras has agreed to testify in the trials of former President Donald Trump, his aide Walt Nauta, and Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira. These individuals have been charged with crimes related to the alleged mishandling of classified documents by Trump.
Trump, Nauta, and De Oliveira have all pleaded not guilty.

Cooperation Agreement and Testimony
Taveras, referred to as “Trump Employee 4” in the indictment, entered into an agreement with federal prosecutors after receiving a target letter from Smith in June. The letter warned Taveras that he was likely to be charged with perjury for allegedly making false statements to a grand jury in March.
According to ABC News, Taveras changed attorneys after receiving the target letter. He had previously been represented by Nauta’s attorney, Stanley Woodward.

Under the agreement reached with Taveras, Smith’s office agreed not to prosecute him for perjury in exchange for his truthful testimony. This testimony would provide details about the conduct underlying the new obstruction allegations in the superseding indictment filed against Trump, Nauta, and De Oliveira in July.
ABC News added that in his previous testimony, Taveras had denied speaking to De Oliveira about a request from Nauta to delete surveillance footage at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. This footage allegedly showed the movement of boxes containing classified materials after Trump had received a subpoena from the government.
The superseding indictment alleged that De Oliveira pressured Taveras to delete the server containing the Mar-a-Lago surveillance footage, allegedly at the request of “the boss,” referring to Trump. Taveras responded that he did not believe he had the right to do so without the approval of a security employee of the Trump Organization.
It is important to note that prosecutors have not charged Trump, Nauta, and De Oliveira with deleting the footage.
Trump’s Denial and Response
In July, the New York Post reported that Trump denied ordering the security footage to be erased. He claimed that Smith’s office had all the tapes.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote in all capital letters, “MAR-A-LAGO SECURITY TAPES WERE NOT DELETED. THEY WERE VOLUNTARILY HANDED OVER TO THE THUGS, HEADED UP BY DERANGED JACK SMITH. WE DID NOT EVEN GO TO COURT TO STOP THEM FROM GETTING THESE TAPES. I NEVER TOLD ANYBODY TO DELETE THEM.”
Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, stated on “Fox News Sunday” that no tapes were deleted and that Trump cooperated by turning them over. She referred to the indictments as bogus and stated that every requested surveillance tape was provided.
