DeSantis resumes campaign post Hurricane Idalia.

Florida’s⁣ Gov. Ron DeSantis is back on​ the‌ presidential⁤ campaign trail after successfully managing the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia.

Mr. DeSantis temporarily paused his campaign on Aug. 27 to focus​ on‍ preparing his state for ⁢the hurricane’s ‌arrival. He canceled a Town⁢ Hall in South ⁣Carolina⁤ and had his wife attend an⁢ event on his behalf.

On Sept. 5, his ​campaign announced his return to the fight for the Republican nomination.

Mr. ⁣DeSantis has a busy schedule ahead,⁣ including appearances on⁢ Newsmax’s The Balance,‌ radio interviews in New Hampshire and Iowa, and television interviews with local news‍ stations in‌ those states. He will also be featured on Fox⁢ News with ⁤Jesse Waters.

Additionally, he ‍plans to join‌ America’s Newsroom on​ Fox ‍News ⁤and‌ spend 9/11 with ⁣families of victims in New York City.

The governor’s ‌campaign did ⁣not provide further⁤ comment.

Hurricane Idalia ⁤struck Florida’s⁢ Big Bend Gulf Coast as a⁢ Category 3 ⁣storm on Aug.​ 30, ‍causing significant damage.

The governor’s ⁤proactive response and immediate actions‌ received praise from national media ⁢outlets.‌

Republican Candidates Ignore Storm

Meanwhile, other Republican candidates focused on‍ their campaigns and topics unrelated to⁣ the hurricane. Former President⁣ Donald Trump was the only candidate to comment on Mr. DeSantis’ ⁢response directly.

Mr. Trump criticized Mr. DeSantis’⁤ approval ⁤of a 20 percent electricity rate hike and accused him of accepting a large campaign⁣ contribution from ⁢Florida ​Power and Light.

Despite the criticism, Mr. DeSantis ⁢remained focused ‌on serving the people of‍ Florida and working with the federal government.

He ‍emphasized the importance of ⁤prioritizing ⁣the needs of those ⁢affected by the hurricane over political calculations.

While‌ Mr. DeSantis still trails behind Mr. Trump⁤ in the polls, he ⁢is determined to continue his campaign.

Florida’s‌ recovery efforts have been successful, with power being restored to ​nearly all affected⁤ accounts ‍and transportation infrastructure being ‌reopened.

Restoring normalcy ‌to ‍the lives of impacted ​Floridians remains a top priority​ for⁢ the governor.
