Search Underway for Suspect in Fatal Stabbing on Metro B⁣ Red Line Train

LOS ANGELES—A search is underway for a person who fatally‍ stabbed a ⁢23-year-old‌ man during an argument aboard a Metro B Red Line train in the downtown area.

The stabbing occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 7 while the suspect and the victim were traveling on the subway train from Union Station. The suspect drew ‍a knife during the argument and stabbed the victim in the chest,⁤ according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers were called to the scene ⁢and found the victim ⁢on a platform at the‍ Pershing Square Station, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where​ he ‍later died, LAPD Officer Tony⁣ Im told City ⁣News Service.

Police were​ searching for the suspect, who​ was ⁢last seen ‌going up the stairs from the underground station, authorities said.

The police ‌investigation⁤ caused trains to bypass ‌the station, Metro’s ⁣Patrick Chandler told City⁣ News ⁤Service.

The suspect ⁢was described as a metro train.”>6-foot-tall man weighing 180 pounds with ⁢black hair. He was ⁤last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and‌ carrying a black‌ backpack,‍ police said.

Another man ‌ was stabbed on ‍Sept. 1 on a Metro A Blue Line train near the Southwest Museum Station in Highland Park. The suspect in that case was a man in his 30s ‍or 40s who was also carrying a black backpack, police said.
