The Official Cause of Death for Paul Reubens, the Iconic Actor Who⁤ Played​ “Pee-wee Herman,”‌ Has Been Released

The news of Paul Reubens’ passing in July shocked fans of the⁢ beloved actor, known for his iconic role​ as “Pee-wee Herman.” The official cause of death has now been revealed, shedding light on Reubens’ battle with cancer.

According to The Blast, Reubens was​ diagnosed with two types of cancer at the ‍time of his death. The main one was “acute myelogenous leukemia,” a type⁤ of cancer that affects the bone marrow and leads to‌ the production of abnormal blood cells. Additionally, Reubens ⁤was⁣ also suffering from ​metastatic lung cancer.

The late actor’s representatives ‍announced his death on July 31, stating, “Paul bravely ⁤and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”

The news of ⁣Reubens’ battle ‌with cancer came as a ‍surprise to fans, as he had not previously disclosed his illness. In‌ a⁢ message⁤ released by his representatives, ‍Reubens apologized for ‌not going public with his health struggles earlier​ and expressed his love and gratitude for‍ his⁣ friends, fans, and supporters.

In honor of Reubens’ parents, he requested that any⁢ expressions of⁢ sympathy be made to‍ organizations such as Stand Up to Cancer or institutes researching​ dementia and Alzheimer’s.

According to his⁤ death certificate, Reubens ‍was cremated and buried at the historic ⁣Hollywood Forever⁤ Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. This iconic cemetery, listed on the​ National Register of Historic⁤ Places, is the final resting place for many notable figures from the entertainment industry.

Paul Reubens rose ⁢to fame with his role in the 1985 movie “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” and further solidified his status as a household name with the TV show ‍”Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” which aired from 1986 to 1991 and received⁢ numerous Emmy Awards.
