Lawyers accuse Mike Lindell of being ‘non-responsive’ during depositions, which are now leaked.

MyPillow CEO Accused of “Discovery Abuse” in Ongoing Legal Battle

Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow,‌ is facing accusations of “discovery abuse” as lawyers have made multiple attempts to depose him. The latest development in this legal saga involves the release of ⁢clips from two‌ attempted depositions, both taken in March. These clips were made public after lawyers representing Dr. Eric Coomer, Dominion Director of Product Strategy⁤ and Security, filed ​a motion to compel deposition testimony⁢ in court. Coomer, who has also filed a lawsuit against Newsmax, alleges that he was defamed by Lindell’s claims of election interference through Dominion⁤ voting machines.

Heated Exchanges and Contemptuous Behavior

During one of the ​depositions, Lindell can be seen engaging in a heated exchange with Coomer’s lawyer. “You’re⁣ just a lawyer, you’re an ambulance-chasing lawyer, so don’t start with ‍me. I got all ‍day,” Lindell retorts. “I’ll⁢ take as much time as you want, so ‌let’s go. You’re not my boss, you’re just a lawyer, frivolous lawyer.” The lawyer’s filing describes Lindell’s behavior as “vulgar, threatening, ​loud, [and] disrespectful.”

Seeking Order and Accountability

Dr. Coomer’s legal team‌ is now seeking an order ⁢to compel Lindell’s appearance before the Court or the Magistrate Judge in Denver, Colorado. They argue that this is necessary to maintain decorum ‍and seek contemporaneous rulings during a rescheduled deposition.⁢ Additionally, Dr. Coomer is requesting attorney fees and expenses associated with Lindell’s alleged discovery abuse.

Consequences and Costly Claims

During the deposition, Lindell was warned about the consequences‍ of being unresponsive to questions, which could result in paying more attorney’s fees. In response, Lindell claimed that his company has suffered⁣ significant financial ​losses due to​ individuals like Eric Coomer, alleging costs in the tens or ​even hundreds ‌of millions of‌ dollars.

In a separate legal matter, Lindell was ordered in April to pay $5 million to a‍ computer and software expert who successfully refuted his data related ​to 2020 election fraud⁤ claims. Lindell has been a vocal supporter of⁢ former President Donald⁢ Trump’s assertions that the most recent presidential ⁤election‍ was “stolen.”
